Small errands for daily needs, such as fresh pastries for breakfast, can be ordered at

Delicatessen

a little below the Gasthof Isopp, right next to the tennis courts, there is a small self-service store where you can buy fresh bread, milk, cheese, etc. and some delicacies from the region. 

 

Refueling

If you go into the mountains with the vehicle, you should make sure that you have enough fuel on board. We therefore recommend to refuel early. There are petrol stations in Stadl/Mur, Metnitz and Kleinglödnitz.

 

Shopping

There are no shops in Flattnitz. Daily necessities can be obtained in Glödnitz, Metnitz or Stadl/Mur. For larger purchases, we recommend to visit the supermarkets in Murau or Feldkirchen.

 

Weather

Due to the altitude, it can be quite cool in summer and the weather in the mountains can change quickly. Please pay attention to wind and weather protection and sufficiently warm clothing.

 

Skiing

The small but beautiful Flattnitz ski area was reduced in size again in 2024, as the chairlift was discontinued and the Fürstenhütten lift, including the Fürstenhütten slope, is no longer accessible.

Until further notice, there is only one T-bar lift with two slopes. However, this is ideal for ski schools, smaller children, beginners and anyone who wants to make a few quick runs in between.
